Mixed Martial Arts Meets Guns?

Mixed Martial Arts Meets Guns?

Miscellaneous Comments Off 22

A new spectator sport has emerged in Las Vegas and it’s no ordinary boxing or mixed martial arts match, to say the least. It’s called “The Las Vegas Gunfight” and it is ALMOST exactly what it sounds like: a live gunfight between people with an audience of spectators going wild. The only catch? You guessed it, the rounds aren’t real (or at least we hoped you guessed it). The competitors use “modified bullets” which only leave small bruises on those who get struck in a lightly or un-padded area.

The audience is completely safe from harms way because they all sit behind a specially design protective screen that ensures they can both see the fight close up and do so while being completely safe from any potential harm. So far, the sport is a huge hit and is gaining a ton of increasing popularity in Vegas and across the country. Some have already taken trips to Vegas just for this experience. However, it has also garnered the opposition you might expect from ant-gun groups across the country. Many feel it is encouraging potential gun violence and are also vehemently opposed to the lack of an age restriction regarding admission.

One thing is for sure – it is a wild thing to see live and up close. More info can be found on the Las Vegas Gunfight Facebook page.
